Qnexa

Where to buy Qnexa / Qsymia? The Qnexa FDA approval is currently pending and the pharmaceutical company behind Qnexa (now called Qsymia), Vivus is revising their safety precautions for the FDA. Qnexa / Qsymia is not available for prescription now but if approved by the FDA, you could be prescribed and be able to buy Qnexa soon. The FDA will most likely give their final approval of it quite possibly July of this year 2012. UPDATE: FDA has already given it’s approval for prescription release and sale of the drug.

Read on for the FDA Approval status on the anti-obesity prescription drug Qnexa / Qsymia on Tuesday, July 17th, 2012.

QnexaThere is already quite a bit of hype surrounding Qnexa. Looking at all the diet weight loss prescription drugs (including Qnexa), the biggest challenge that weight loss industry faces is striking a balance between desirable level of weight loss and the health of the person.

Now, Dr. OZ does an episode going into the details of Qsymia (read more below) as a “Silver Bullet” for weight loss.

But be very careful of buying into the hype surrounding this new weight loss drug. There are risks involved BUT WE RECOMMEND A BETTER & SAFER NON-PRESCRIPTION SOLUTION OVER Qnexa: PhenTabz weight loss pills.

PhenTabz works and they work well. Read our PhenTabz Customer Reviews and see for yourself how effective and safe they are.

Look for non-prescription alternatives first before considering any prescription weight loss drugs. They require a prescription for a reason.

Qnexa Weight LossTraditional methods of losing weight such as dieting, exercising and weight loss pills all have their advantages and disadvantages.

People who are drawn to Qsymia (Qnexa) (on the verge of FDA approval in July, 2012) have probably tried dieting to lose weight. Not once but maybe more than once. Many times they may become weak and had low energy levels (not to mention difficulty to remain productive) while trying to maintain a low calorie diet.

People starving themselves feel tired all the time and lose the motivation to do anything else. In the end, people end up regaining their lost weight trying to diet and exercise because they cannot continue that type of lifestyle change to lose the weight.

So they are looking for an easier weight loss solution that isn’t quite as demanding on their time and their energy so the popularity and hype surrounding this newly approved prescription weight loss pills comes as no surprise.

The exciting addition to the list of weight loss pills that the FDA has looked at is Vivus’s re-introduced magic weight loss pill, Qsymia (was introduced back in 2010). In February 2012, 20 out of 22 members on the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) advisory panel suggested investigating Qnexa for treating obesity.

Mackenzie took PhenTabz and now after 5 months witness her real weight loss results!!

Qnexa Side EffectsFor safer and effective Qnexa alternatives consider PhenTabz. There is no need for people to keep waiting for the prescription drug Qnexa.

With PhenTabz you can get the weight loss results you really want WITHOUT a doctor’s prescription. A new diet, weight loss product on the market developed with the focus on safety and effectiveness.

Developed by Gentech Pharmaceutical. Leader in safe & effective non-prescription pharmacological products for over 25 years.

As of now, this weight reduction pill is in final stages of clinical studies. It may receive FDA’s final approval before the end of 2012 (after the meeting in July later this year). If approved, it would be used for treating patients with type 2 diabetes. Other benefits of this pill include lowering of cholesterol and blood pressure. Higher doses of the weight loss drug, in particular, can bring down blood pressure substantially.

Keep in mind that these benefits come with any form of weight loss and does not relate specifically to Qsymia (Qnexa). People reading the above benefits are led to believe that it is responsible for those benefits but taking it can lead to weight loss which can then lead to lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, etc.

It is the weight loss that leads to those benefits so the non-prescription weight loss product PhenTabz will offer the same health benefits WITHOUT THE NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Please keep in mind that ANY type of weight loss (fat loss) can directly be effective in the lowering of cholesterol and lowering blood pressure. The same can be said from eating healthier or exercising more.

Qnexa is also being studied for its positive effect on patients with OSA or the obstructive sleep apnea. Studies on OSA patients treated with Qnexa show that OSA attacks were down by almost 69 percent.

Qsymia is a pill that could be effective against OSA and hypertension as well. It may also be prescribed for lowering cholesterol in blood. It helps in bringing down weight, which is an indirect way of treating type-2 diabetes. During clinical trials of this drug, average person lost over 15-20 lbs.

Looking closer at it, it has two major compounds; Phentermine and Topiramate. Phentermine suppresses hunger. This is one of the reasons why it is recommended as being suitable for weight reduction and obesity treatment. Phentermine is also a stimulant like phenethylamine and amphetamine. The problem with Phentermine is over time Phentermine becomes less and less effective as the body becomes more and more tolerant of it.

Topiramate is primarily an anticonvulsant used to prevent seizures.

The ratio in which these two drugs are present and the dosage of the pill can ensure that side effects are minimal….but are they really?

Qnexa Side Effects: Too Much Risk For Just Weight Loss?

Currently from what is known, the side effects of Qnexa may mild and unnoticeable. Such effects may include constipation, dryness in mouth and tingling of toes and fingers.

Though it has not been conclusively proven, FDA has expressed a few other concerns about this pill. Clinical studies are now on to assess the adverse effects of Qnexa on pregnant women which Vivus has already responded that they will do their best to keep Qnexa / Qsymia out of the hands of pregnant women or women trying to become pregnant.

Researchers are also studying the drug and corresponding increase in cardiovascular events including heart palpitations. In a few cases the pill led to suicidal tendencies.

There were concerns of birth defects and memory lapses as well. The last phase of clinical studies will help in determining the dosage and other treatment that may be necessary along with Qnexa.

Don’t take these Qsymia / Qnexa side effects for granted. You will be taking a lot of risk just to lose weight.

Comparing PhenTabz vs Qnexa (Qsymia)

PhenTabz vs. QNEXA PhenTabz QNEXA
AVERAGE WEIGHT LOSS 2-3 LBS / WEEK DEPENDS
APPETITE SUPPRESSION STRONG STRONG
METABOLISM BOOST STRONG NONE
ENERGY BOOST STRONG NONE
INCREASED MOTIVATION YES POSSIBLE
SIDE EFFECTS NO HIGHER RISK
REQUIRES PRESCRIPTION NO YES
LONG TERM WEIGHT LOSS YES NO
AVAILABLE NOW YES NO

There is a study that reveals the similarities of Qnexa / Qsymia to other prescription weight loss pills and that they can increase the chances of heart attacks and strokes (from heart palpitations). There were heart attacks that occurred when testing Qnexa vs placebo.

Previous research also sheds light on the risk of birth defects for women who are pregnant. When asked about those details Vivus spokeswoman declined to comment.

Cleft PalateWith Qnexa taken by women trying to become pregnant or who are already pregnant, their babies would be 5X (500%) more likely to be born with a cleft palate.

So physicians, before prescribing Qnexa / Qsymia to them, will need to make sure that the female patients are not pregnant or are not trying to become pregnant.

People now know that effectiveness of a drug varies as per genetic composition of the patient.

Choice is, between treating the patient with a drug that has some known adverse side effects and continuing the available treatment, which may not be as effective, the existing ailments of the patient may determine whether weight loss pills like Qnexa should be prescribed or not.

The patient’s behavior and severity of condition may also prompt the physician to prescribe such weight loss pills. The physician may prescribe other drugs along with Qnexa to bring down the adverse side effects from this pill. Physicians may also adjust the drug’s dosage so that such side effects are negligible.

As you know, as of 6/27/12, the FDA has approved the 1st anti-obesity weight loss drug Belviq (also known as Lorcaserin), which is developed by Arena Pharmaceuticals. It is the first prescription weight loss drug to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration in over 10 years. This will most likely lead to the FDA approval of Qnexa / Qsymia as an anti-obesity drug as well.

We understand the need for a solution to address the growing obesity epidemic that’s occurring within the US. Obesity is associated with so many preventable health issues: heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma and the list goes on.

In regards to Belviq / Lorcaserin, we disagree with the FDA’s decision on the approval due to the negative side effects this anti-obesity drug poses on a MASS SCALE due to this approval. The general population sees this “FDA Approval” as a Safe “Seal of Approval” by the FDA but what they do not realize is that there are a whole host of negative side effects that go with any prescription drug such as Belviq / Lorcaserin or Qsymia.

People feel that the FDA has approved it so it must be the new weight loss magic pill that will solve everyone’s weight problem. Instead, it will bring about more negative health issues, physically and mentally.

Buy PhenTabz for weight lossPeople are failing to realize that they have the power to address weight loss themselves and avoid those expensive and disastrous health problems through making small changes in their lifestyle:

Eating healthier and being more active (by introducing tiny changes, one at a time) until it becomes natural to do so. Now, complementing this with PhenTabz helps to speed up the weight loss process safely and effectively without the negative side effects that come with anti-obesity drugs that require a prescription.

PhenTabz is there to compliment the lifestyle and motivate the person taking it as they will see weight loss results much faster than without it. Plus there’s no need for a prescription or visit to the doctor.

Still Waiting For The Word On Qsymia

FDA Food and Drug AdministrationThere are several weight reduction foods and health drinks that can easily be bought by people over the counter. Some of these may also be harmful for a few people.

There is no comparison available between the possible side effects of such weight reduction foods and weight loss pills like Qnexa (Qsymia).

Perhaps FDA’s studies may prompt a cautious approach towards the pill and prevent its abuse for weight reduction.

It had already been rejected for approval by the FDA years ago back in 2010.

Dr. Oz Qnexa: Dr. Oz On The Safety & Effectiveness Of Qnexa

Dr Oz Qnexa4/19/2012 – Dr. Oz shed some light on the pending FDA approval of Qnexa calling it the “Silver Bullet” for weight loss and explaining how Qnexa affects the patient’s signals on how food tastes and how it can reduce cravings because it doesn’t make the food taste bad but simply just different.

Guests Dr. Craig Primack and fitness trainer Chris Powell weighed in on the effects of Qnexa from those who have taken it.

Dr. Craig Primack mentioned side effects still can arise from Qnexa without getting in to specifics stating that somehow the side effects from the combination of both Phentermine and Topiramate may counteract the side effects of the other (in his opinion).

Chris Powell states that the results from the initial weight loss gives patients something to believe in once they start to results from Qnexa to further their healthy habits. Basically, seeing real results is a real life motivator no matter what prescription drug or supplement one takes or what new fitness activities one takes on.

Also, Qsymia is NOT for everyone. You must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30+ which is fairly high (or BMI of 27 if one is already categorized as high risk w/ hypertension (high blood pressure) or diabetes).

Dr. Oz states that he would rather not have someone be on Qnexa but any results that arise from any form of weight loss are great motivating factors to get patients to where they need to get to in terms of their diet / fitness. We applaud Dr. Oz for his professional opinion and candidness in regards to Qsymia.

It is simply not for everyone and carries a level of risk in exchange for weight loss.

Qnexa AlternativesWe believe that the results of Qnexa as seen on the Dr. Oz show can already be accomplished with Phen Tabz diet pills but they are even safer:

  • WITHOUT the Negative Side Effects
  • WITHOUT Altered Taste From Foods
  • WITHOUT a Doctor’s Visit or a Doctor’s Prescription
  • FOR LONG TERM WEIGHT LOSS (Qnexa: short term weight loss)

Read our in-house PhenTabz customer reviews for insight on the results of our friend’s use of PhenTabz.

Qnexa Alternatives: Non-Prescription PhenTabz

We already know that Phentermine also poses some undesirable side effects and weight loss effects are only for the short term. Now with the addition of Topiramate to form Qnexa / Qsymia it may still only be for short term use as well as additional possible side effects stemming from Topiramate as well.

PhenTabz, which is developed by the non-prescription drug maker GenTech Pharmaceutical was developed as an effectively simple weight loss product and an alternative to Phentermine without a prescription. The proprietary formulation (PhenTabz active ingredients are already FDA approved) allows long term weight loss usage as opposed to Phentermine which is prescribed for short term use only.

Before looking options for prescription drugs, always consider the non-prescription alternatives such as PhenTabz.

Qnexa Weight Loss Drug: New FDA Approval Status

Looks like the FDA is going to hold off on the approval on the Qsymia diet pill until July 17th, 2012. The Food and Drug Administration was supposed to have a decision by April 17th this year.

The reason for postponing the date was to also take into account the new plan for drug safety plan that Vivus had also submitted recently. This postponement is standard whenever new drug risk management plans are submitted to the FDA.

It has been over 13 years since the FDA has approved a prescription diet weight loss pill so it remains to be seen how the FDA will Qnexa / Qsymia. Qnexa was rejected years ago when submitted to the FDA for approval. Normally prescription weight loss drugs carry quite a lot of risk due to the side effects that arise from taking them. The drawbacks outweigh the benefits of weight loss. That is why there is a reason why Phentermine, Topiramate and now Qnexa…….are all prescription based drugs. They can be dangerous so a physician must make the assessment of whether it is safe enough for the patient.

Once again, keep in mind that Qsymia is just a combination of Phentermine (safe only for short term weight loss) and Topiramate (anti-seizure drug). Xenical remains the ONLY FDA Approved long term prescription weight loss drug but before you even think about trying Xenical because the side effects are quite unpleasant for weight loss. Those that are approved for prescription are only short term weight loss solutions including this pending approval for Qnexa by the FDA.

We will see what decision the FDA makes on 7/17/12. Remember that even with approval from the FDA, Qnexa is still only for short term weight loss and will still require a doctor’s visit and assessment on whether the patient can take it or not.

Qsymia FDA Approval: Approved?

Today, Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 the FDA has approved the prescription weight loss drug Qnexa (renamed Qsymia) and limited it to highly obese patients with a body mass index of over 27 or more (BMI of 30 or greater). With the recent approval of Lorcaserin / Belviq the FDA approval of Qnexa was expected as well.

Although many overweight patients find it a reason to rejoice we fear it will bring on a new era of negative side effects for weight loss on a larger scale if physicians are not careful.

Please keep in mind that there are pharmacological products on the market that are safer and effective for weight loss and appetite suppression that DO NOT require a prescription like PhenTabz.

You won’t need to be at a Body Mass Index of 30 (high obesity) in order to qualify for it either!

Now How Much Is Qnexa (Qsymia)?

At this time the exact cost of Qnexa hasn’t been made public but we do know that prescription weight loss pills tend to be very expensive (Read below for the new updates on Qsymia’s price).

Where to purchase Qnexa? First you will need to visit your doctor. A doctor’s visit alone can run you from $100-$200 or more to have him or her assess your condition to see if you fit the profile to be allowed to take the Qsymia weight loss pill.

If your doctor does their assessment they will write a prescription for you and direct you on where to buy Qsymia.

Due to Qnexa / Qsymia being such a new prescription weight loss drug, the branded version could cost in the range $100-$200+ per 30 day supply (being a unique combination of 2 different drugs: Phentermine and Topiramate).

As of 9/18/12 Qnexa / Qsymia is now available with a prescription.

Qsymia Prices / Qnexa Prices:

Most people wanting to buy it will be paying out of pocket for now. Below are the wholesale prices for Qsymia / Qnexa so consumers will need to get a prescription from their physician in order to buy Qsymia / Qnexa.

  • $120 – Lower dosage (3.8mg Phentermine / 23mg Topiramate)
  • $136 – Regular dosage (7.5mg Phentermine / 46mg Topiramate)
  • $163 – Higher dosage (11mg Phentermine / 69mg Topiramate)
  • $184 – Strongest dosage (15mg Phentermine / 92mg Topiramate)

Remember, the above are the WHOLESALE prices for Qsymia

In order to qualify for a prescription to take Qnexa adults must be at a body mass index (BMI) of 30+ (obese) or an adult with a BMI of 27+ with hypertension (high blood pressure) or dyslipidemia (high cholesterol) due to being overweight.
