Gratitude & Appreciation
It has been found that many times we complain about other things and forget to be grateful for what we have or what we have already achieved. During times of depression and anxiety, it’s important to sit down and make a list of the things that we should be grateful about. The list rejuvenates our mood and allows us to realize how fortunate we truly are.
Take some temporal leave from the reality and read one of your favorite books. So many people have experienced the same and came out strong and sound so you can as well make it.
During times of depression you can write about fiction and get yourself to another world. Many of the great writings were written by people who were going through some form of pain in their lives so keep yourself busy try to forget all the things making you depressed.
If you have the energy and vitality to do so this is a great way to reduce depression. Get out and exercise. You can try an hour of cardio or any other form of exercise that you enjoy. This leaves you feeling refreshed and gives you a feeling of accomplishment.
Write down your goals and what you need to do so as to achieve those goals. As we write it all down our brain chemistry changes, our neurons ignite and we start thinking on how to make ourselves better.
Friends are very important in someone’s life. They are support systems and they can be very inspiring when we are low through offering motivation and other forms of support. They can lift someone up when they’re feeling down.
